Server A:
Windows Server 2003
SQL Server 2005
Runs on domain "aaa"
Support-mode only (no new changes)
Server B:
Windows Server 2003
SQL Server 2005
Runs on domain "bbb"
Support-mode only (no new changes)
Server C:
Windows Server 2008 R2
SQL Server 2008 Standard
Runs on domain "ccc"
Situation:
Server A has a database "Products", and has a replication going on to server B. The replication is a push subscription, and the distributor runs locally on server A. Replication goes smoothly, for years now. No tranformations are done, it's pretty basic.
Server B should be removed from the picture. I'm adding a new push subscription to replicate "Products" to Server C. On Server A, I've added a new push subscription, with the more or less the same settings as for Server B. It -should- work, however, when running
the agent from Server A, I get this error:
Login failed. The login is from an untrusted domain and cannot be used with Windows authentication.
(Source: ServerC (Data source); Error number: 18452)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A cross platform trust doesn't seem like a likely solution, since there's no such "trust" between Server A and Server B. I don't see many other options for the distributer either, so I'm kind of stuck..
The original replication wasn't created by myself, FYI.
