Adding an index to a table at the subscriber end

Hi,

We are currently using SQL server 2000 with transactional replication and I want to add an index to a table at the subscriber end to improve the performance of the reporting we do but I'm wary of this in case it breaks replication.

Can anyone advise if this can be done with out causing any issues.
